The short version

We don’t sell your data. We don’t show ads. We keep what the app needs to work, and we use usage data only to make Forbay better.

What we collect

AccountThe ID Sign in with Apple gives us, the email Apple shares (it can be a private relay address), your username, display name and the country you choose when you sign up.
What you postYour forbays: the song and the note you write with it.
What you doLikes, saves, follows and blocks; which cards you were shown; and songs you listened to for 30 seconds or more. These shape charts and the notifications other people get.
App usageEvents such as app opens, screens viewed, songs played, searches and forbays submitted, with the app and iOS version. We keep them for 180 days.
ReportsIf you report a forbay or a user: who reported what, the reason and the time. We store them to review reports, and they are deleted with the account.
NotificationsYour inbox items. Read ones are deleted after 30 days, and every item after 90 days.

What others can see

Your username, display name, country flag, forbays, follower counts and follow lists are public, including on share links at forbay.live.

Who liked a forbay is shown only to the person who posted it. Your saves are private.

Who processes it

Supabase stores the app’s data (Tokyo region). Apple handles sign-in and music playback. Cloudflare runs this website and share links. [Add crash reporting or push notification providers when they are switched on.]

This website

No cookies. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not track you across sites. Song previews and artwork load from Apple.

Your choices

To get a copy of your data, email support@forbay.live from the address on your account. We act on requests within [N] days. To delete your account, see below.

Deleting your account

In the app: open Profile, tap “⋯” (top right), choose “Delete account” and confirm with Apple. Deletion is immediate and permanent. Your forbays, saves, likes, followers, following, notifications and app usage data are deleted, and we ask Apple to revoke Forbay’s Sign in with Apple access. The same Apple ID can sign up again later as a new, empty account.

If you no longer have the app, email a deletion request to support@forbay.live. We delete the account within 30 days, and may ask you to write from the email of your Apple ID to verify it is yours.
